“There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose.” – John Maynard Keynes
Nationalising the banks just puts the debt resposibilty on us, banks need threat of bankcruptcy to stop this happening, the austrian school have predicted this, true free market economy works go read!

I closed my ears when people were screaming that we should buy when the DOW was over 14,000.

I’ve already made several great deals in the last couple of months & have one more in the title company.

  24. FeverIAm Says:

    The Swedish ‘ …
The Swedish ‘experiment’ in bank nationalisation was limited in scope. The total amounts invested at the time were small in comparison, and easy to finance (unlike today). Sweden was exporting at the time, and there wasn’t a huge recession looming. The situation today is far different and the risks are much greater. And in all, this really goes against the entire system America has been preaching for years.

In an existing Socialist state it would be fine. I’m not sure America is ready for it!

  25. 2bsirius Says:

I agree with you in …
I agree with you in theory, but this situation seems so extreme. Sweden [yes, speaking of socialism lol] was able to ring fence its toxic loans through a nationalized scheme. They then rebuilt their banking system and were able to resell it later. I think in a nutshell that’s what these four diverse economists, Krugman, Stiglitz, Roubini, Taleb, Baker, are looking at.
